Grundy County community strengths and needs assessment

Mountain T.O.P.

Sweet Grass partnered with Mountain T.O.P. and Minnesota Housing Partnership to lead a community-driven housing strengths and needs assessment in Grundy County, Tennessee. Through surveys, focus groups, and a local advisory council, we worked alongside residents to identify both the challenges and assets shaping housing in the county. Findings revealed an urgent need for additional and rehabilitated housing — at least 660 more units — as well as significant strengths, including widespread land ownership and strong community networks. The resulting report outlined actionable strategies and partnerships to build a healthier, more equitable housing ecosystem grounded in collaboration, local knowledge, and community pride.
