Plenty Doors builds a construction and agriculture workforce program for the Crow Reservation
Plenty Doors Community Development Corporation
Plenty Doors Community Development Corporation is a Native CDFI on the Crow Reservation in Montana. Its mission is to improve communities through economic development, individual and community capacity building, business development, promotion and preservation of culture, and energy and food sovereignty.
-
Plenty Doors is coordinating workforce development, business support, financial empowerment, homeownership, and infrastructure enrichment into one integrated, community-centered supply chain. Our role was to document issues related to the construction workforce, housing, and food-systems; conduct in-depth interviews with local, regional, and national leaders; and provide insights for how local assets can be cultivated and utilized.
-
Increase educational opportunities for local community members.
Increase employment stability for tribal members and the region.
Expand capacity and increase the number of Native-owned construction firms, farms, ranches, and food-related businesses.
Increase financial stability of Native-owned businesses.
Increase rates of homeownership.
Accelerate construction.
Increased acreage of shovel-ready trust and fee land.
-
Plenty Doors now has several development tools to accompany the momentum and strength it has with local community members, regional collectives, and national partnerships. Compiled directly from our interviews, research, and case studies, we've provided an extensive matrix of recipients, actions, service providers, capital partners, and outcomes to guide the Crow Construction and Agriculture Workforce Program.
